Wave Break Island Anchorage. Sundowner time!!

Made our way down the inside passage towards the Gold Coast. Figured we would spend a couple of days here before going back to the top of Moreton Island. Originally our plan was to go to Byron Bay and then Yamba, however looking at the winds it would have been against us the whole way and that, as we have learned is not the most pleasant of sails.

Anchored at Wave Break Island, which is a man made island created from the dredging of the Gold Coast Seaway. Very shallow as the boat draws 2.1 meters and we saw depths of less than that, but didn’t feel it touch. Left on the high tide and now at the southport anchorage by Seaworld. We will head out in the morning through the seaway entrance and go on the outside to the top of Moreton. Hopefully catch some fish!
