South Molle

Had a couple of nights at Hamilton Marina again. Enjoyed some time out at the tavern being entertained by the cockatoos and a little dock dancing to finish it off.

After Hamilton we set off for South Molle Island for another hike. South Molle has a resort that got closed down because of Cyclone Debbie in 2017 …. and no that is not cyclone Debbie dancing on the dock. Still has visible damage and looks like nothing has been done or will be done to restore the resort. There are hikes all over the island but we chose the one to the point called Spion Kop (don’t ask me what that means, it’s just a walk). The island used to be a land lease for sheep ranching and changed hands many times over the years. The track is maintained by the parks board and the only danger might be a Carpet Python or two.

On the way to Spion Kop we stopped at Balancing Rock to see if we could imitate a balancing rock. The hike was great with a view of the bay where we parked MAD. After the hike of about 2 hours we headed over to Airlie Beach in order to have a night out before Pete and Deb headed back to Vancouver.

There is no reason for your friends to be back in Van. The fall has came in style. That is pissing down unpleasantly. By the way, how I can get access to your posts dated before September 10th?
