Rosslyn Bay

Arrived here Wednesday July 31st from Pancake Creek/Great Keppel, it was not the original plan but after looking into Hummocky Island anchorage we decided it was not a favourable and pushed on to Great Keppel Island arriving in the dark and then to Rosslyn Bay in the morning.  The forecast for the week was a little iffy so we hung tight here for 7 days of marina life.

7 days of marina life involved the following:

  1. Watching the Brisbane to Keppel yacht race, kudoo’s to “SMUGGLER” 28 hr completion (fastest ever) for the 348 NM race.  Check out the cup presenting entertainers (no shoes).
  2. Watched a sunken fishing boat rise from the seabed.
  3. Lots of boat chores, I mean lots but she feels clean, organised and ready for visitors!
  4. Refuelling, restocking, drinking coffee at the the local restaurant.
  5. Bumping into some RQYS friends.
  6. A few long walks, beach and lookout points.
  7. Couple of trips into Yeppoon.
  8. A couple of very bored cats.

And now it is ready to get going again Yeah!  Plan to head to Port Clinton, Supply Bay and from there is weather dependant, as usual.

You guys are having an awesome time. Lovely weather. I’m playing fixtures in Warwick!! Yep you’re right, I didn’t think I’d be doing that again. Won both matches, so far. Best way to get a hit out here. When are you back in Brisbane next?
