Ride up to the Whitsundays

Island hopping up to the Whitsundays. Made stops in a few nice anchorages and some very rolly anchorages. Spent 3 days at Island Head Creek. Lovely place to spend some time.

From there we were going to go to Supply Bay but opted instead for a day trip to the Percy Isles. Good anchorage on South Percy, Curlew and Scawfel next and after that it was Thomas Island, which is basically the Whitsundays. Wind was in our favour for the daily trips coming form the south-east in traditional Australian winter conditions. Anywhere from 10 – 15 knots gusting into the 20’s, but coming from behind so we were averaging 7 knots. Good ride for the MAD boat!

Got to Thomas and now we are a week without internet. So, what do you do. Hike up to the island high point to see if we can get internet. But first you have to find the trail, starting at Naked Lady Beach. When we got up far enough we received some emails and all was good in the world and the view was fantastic!
