Cid Harbour

Cid Harbour has been the scene of three recent shark attacks in close succession causing the local council to ban swimming in the harbour. The locals have always known that Cid Harbour was a bad risk for swimming. The reason for the recent attacks are still undefined but experts suggest that some charter boats have taken to feeding the sharks. Another reason suggests that the preferred diet of the sharks are the larger green turtles which are on the decline in the Great Barrier Reef leaving the sharks to look for a new food source.

The reason that we came over to Cid Harbour in the first place is that it offers a great hike to the top of Whitsunday Island with spectacular views. It’s not the Grouse Grind but it is a good workout.
