Bundy Boredom

Well, we have been stuck here in Bundy now for a week because of the strong winds going up the coast, and there is not a lot to do. Washed the boat down, polished up the chrome, tightened sheets, stowed gear, you know all the important things you have to do to live the life of a yachty.

The marina is a 40 minute bus ride from the town (CBD) and has very sketchy service. We were getting antsy wanting to hit the courts again, but the service just doesn’t match the court availability times (3 – 10pm during the week). There is a short walk, however to the local grocery where we have been able to get some supplies. Always the chance to see some wildlife.

Used the dinghy again on Saturday to play squash because, as you know, there are only 2 f…..ing buses available on Saturday and the times don’t work because the squash courts are only open 1 – 5pm. “1 to 5″ on a Saturday!! … go figure, anyway, good ride up the river and had a good hit at Bundy Squash for an hour and 40.

Sunday we took the courtesy bus from the marina to the local market where we provisioned up for the next 2 weeks, even made a stop at Dan Murphy’s for the correct amount of grog. The wind will have died down enough so that we can make our way to Pancake Creek on Monday morning, bright and early as it is about a 10 hour sail and we don’t want to arrive in the dark.

Oh gosh, complaining and complaining. Think of us, poor vancouverites exposed to sporadic sunny breaks and cont. 13-18C ?
