Back to Cid

Headed back to Cid Harbour after a stop on Whitehaven Beach. Deb had missed out on the hike up to the top of Whitsunday Island because of a bug. So feeling better we all took off up the trail and left the dinghy on an incoming tide. Again the views were spectacular. After getting our fill of the views down we come to discover that the dinghy has been pushed up on the shore by the waves and is full of muddy water.

Managed to get enough water out so that we could head back to the boat. A little washdown with some clean sea water to get all the mud out and a re-anchor over to the other side on Cid Island. Good anchorage except for the fact that we anchored in 11 metres and in the morning it was down to less than 3. YIKES!! we had put too much chain out and drifted back onto a sand bank. Up anchor and over to Hamilton Island Marina again … for more provisions a boat cleanup and to let Deb enjoy the marina.

Luckily, dinghy ended up on the shore not far away from it.
